Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

FreeTabletGov.click is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about government assistance programs should not be limited by ability. The people who use our site include individuals from all backgrounds and with a wide range of abilities, and we are dedicated to providing a positive experience for everyone.

We recognize that the audience for our content includes many individuals who may rely on assistive technologies to access the web. Seniors, people with visual impairments, individuals with motor disabilities, and people with cognitive differences all deserve equal access to the information we provide. This commitment is fundamental to our mission of helping people navigate government tablet programs.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:

  • Visual disabilities (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
  • Auditory disabilities (deafness, hearing loss)
  • Physical disabilities (limited motor function, mobility impairments)
  • Speech disabilities
  • Cognitive and neurological disabilities (learning differences, attention disorders, memory issues)

WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard recommended by most accessibility advocacy organizations and is the benchmark used by many government agencies. We use this standard as our target and continuously work to meet its requirements across our entire site.

Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML. We use proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3), landmarks, lists, and semantic elements to support screen readers and other assistive technologies. Our page structure is designed to be logical and navigable.
  • Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements on our site can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone. This includes navigation links, buttons, form fields, and expandable content sections.
  • Alt text. All meaningful images on our site include descriptive alternative text that conveys the purpose and content of the image. Decorative images use empty alt attributes to avoid unnecessary screen reader announcements.
  • Color contrast. We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios for all text content to ensure readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies. Our design system uses carefully selected color combinations that meet WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Responsive design. Our site works across different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels. Content remains accessible and usable at up to 200% zoom.
  • Clear language. All content is written in plain, simple U.S. English. We avoid jargon, unnecessarily complex terminology, and convoluted sentence structures. We break information into manageable sections with clear headings.
  • Focus indicators. Visible focus indicators are present on all interactive elements so keyboard users can see which element is currently active.
  • Consistent navigation. Navigation patterns are consistent across all pages. Menus, breadcrumbs, and footer links appear in the same locations throughout the site.
  • Table of contents. Longer content pages include a table of contents with anchor links for easy navigation to specific sections.
  • Skip navigation. Skip-to-content functionality allows keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation and go directly to main content.

How We Test Accessibility

We use a combination of automated and manual testing methods to evaluate and improve our site's accessibility:

  • Automated accessibility scanning tools to identify common issues such as missing alt text, low contrast, and missing form labels
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing to ensure all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
  • Screen reader testing to verify that content is properly announced and navigable using assistive technology
  • Visual review at different zoom levels and screen sizes to confirm readability and layout stability
  • Review of color combinations against WCAG contrast ratio requirements

Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, some areas may not yet be fully optimized. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining accessibility barriers. Known areas where we are working to improve include:

  • Some complex data tables may benefit from additional markup for screen reader users
  • Some third-party embedded content may not fully meet our accessibility standards
  • We are continuously improving the accessibility of our interactive elements and form components

If you encounter any accessibility barriers that are not listed above, please let us know so we can prioritize fixing them.

Assistive Technology Support

Our site is designed to work with common assistive technologies, including:

  • Screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Alternative keyboard and switch devices
  • Browser-based accessibility tools and extensions

If you experience issues using our site with a specific assistive technology, please contact us with details about the technology you are using and the issue you encountered so we can investigate and address it.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of FreeTabletGov.click. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, need content in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

When reporting an accessibility issue, please include the following information if possible:

  • The URL of the page where you encountered the issue
  • A description of the problem you experienced
  • The assistive technology or browser you were using
  • Your operating system and device type

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 2 business days and will work to resolve identified issues as quickly as possible. Accessibility issues are treated with high priority in our content and development workflow.

Third-Party Content

Our site contains links to external websites, including official government resources, provider websites, and other organizations. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites, as they are maintained by other organizations with their own accessibility practices. We encourage you to contact those sites directly regarding their accessibility standards.

When linking to external resources, we aim to choose sources that demonstrate a commitment to accessibility. However, we include links to official government resources (such as the FCC and USAC) regardless of their accessibility status, because these are essential resources for our readers.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time project. We regularly review our site for accessibility compliance and work to implement improvements as web standards evolve and new best practices emerge. Our goal is to ensure that every person who visits FreeTabletGov.click can access the information they need.
